Today, we have added OpenID support to the blogs. While the whole concept of OpenID is a bit difficult to explain, let me just try to highlight what it actually means in every day life.
There is one problem on the web (actually, there are many, but let’s stick to this particularily annoying one): Whereever you go, you need to register, you need to pick a new username, and password, and so on. With OpenID, it means you can use your blog login at ALL OpenID enabled sites. As long as you are logged into your blog, you won’t need to authenticate at other sites. This probably still sounds complex, but we will be using it in a particular way: Over the year, we will add services to antira.info. Usually, you would need to pick new username and password again, but with OpenID, you can just use your blog. That helps us to maintain the user base in one database, and helps you that you don’t need to juggle with several logins.
We’ll get back to this in due timeā¦
